'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League comeback

Kane achieves his 100th goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has faded and he is prepared to negotiate a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is at the moment midway through the four-year contract he inked when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the offseason of 2023.

The veteran forward has scored an impressive 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German side, contributing them secure the 2024-25 Bundesliga title - which represented the initial significant honor of his notable career.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would like to see Kane return to England, where he requires 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring feat of 260.

However, the England skipper has now indicated that he is no longer as eager about coming back home as he earlier was, and would certainly think about lengthening his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of extending longer, I could absolutely see that," he stated.

"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be open to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different chances and different timings happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top scorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the speediest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five divisions, reaching the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a honor had avoided him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane reveals that he was not sure how he would respond after overcoming his trophy drought, but now thinks it has made him motivated for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be easy to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I pushed myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The chance of a Premier League return has significantly decreased
